Vision Landscape Services is giving high-end customers what they’ve always wanted— the greenest lawn on the street, all year long.
Even in South Florida, cool winter weather and common annual diseases take their toll causing overall browning or off-color patchy areas on lawns. Endurant turf colorants, which are made with organic pigments by Naples-based Geoponics, are changing the landscape, providing nearly flawless, natural green lawns. And, Vision Landscape Services is pleased to offer the service.
“People were talking in the Quail West community, saying their lawns were turning brown while looking at a lawn that had beautiful green grass all winter,” said Glenn Montgomery, of Vision Landscape Services, which is based in Bonita Springs, servicing Collier and Lee counties, including Naples, Estero and Fort Myers.
When they learned it was grass paint, they were a bit shocked and curious. However, most of all, they wanted to look their best, too.
“One big thing in communities like Quail West, like the Quail West Home Owner’s Association, is they’re on top of their ‘A game.’ They take pride in their community,” said Montgomery.
“It was residents who came to us and requested Endurant,” he said.
Endurant turf colorants are organic pigments blended with powerful, non toxic binders. The special binder keeps the green color lasting for up to three months, depending on rate of growth and other conditions. Additionally, the Endurant line of lawn colorants includes a variety of shades to blend well with the multitude of grass species.
A common challenge in Southwest Florida is that zoysia grass is a popular species and yet zoysia grass is highly susceptible to brown patch fungus a couple months out of the year.
Add an unusually cool winter in Southwest Florida, and in many cases whole lawns were turning brown or partially brown. Due to the low temperatures, decreased chlorophyll and color become the result.
Endurant turf colorants allow the grass to stay green throughout these conditions, while allowing the fungus to be corrected inconspicuously. Meanwhile, residents, including many winter seasonal residents, get to enjoy their lawns the whole time.
“Using less fertilizer and fewer products to get better results all year long is something I’m excited about,” Montgomery said.
He and Andrew Segura, Vision Landscape’s spray tech, are proud of the unique blend of Endurant that they created just for their customers.
Furthermore, other communities, such as Mediterra, another golf club community in North Naples, also started talking about the beautiful green lawns they were seeing. So, Endurant turf colorants were added to their landscaping program as well, said Montgomery.
For the clients, it’s a beautiful add-on service that they enjoy. For the landscape companies, it is also profitable.
“I’m really impressed by how natural Endurant looks,” Montgomery said. “It dries quickly, and it’s nice knowing there is no toxicity to worry about with Endurant. This is a product and service ideal for such high end and discerning communities.”
